Company Overview

With almost three decades of operational and management experience in distribution and manufacturing environments, Deborah L. (Deb) Thomas has developed a sharp eye for businesses bloated with process ineffieciencies, cross-purposes and miscommunication — and how they can retool for a sleeker, smoother, strategically focused organization.

As an entrepreneur who quickly built her own successful business management consulting company, she empathetically helps businesses set priorities and restore the balances they need to grow their businesses.

Thomas and Associates (TAC) clients have ranged from an international pump manufacturer to a boutique coffee manufacturing company with retail outlets. TAC has managed several projects to reduce inventories, improve operations and warehousing, and streamline manufacturing processes and costing.

For these projects, TAC has gathered requirements, developed specifications, designed processes, and managed implementation. All of the projects resulted in substantial revenue for the client company.

For the past decade, TAC have focused thier attention on one business management application software – Sage Software’s MAS90/200. Working for one of the top three Resellers in the US, Deb honed her consulting and implementation skills. She left the Reseller to begin her consulting firm.

Headquartered in Portland, OR
Deb is the only Certified Consultant in the US for Synergistic Software’s custom manufacturing/service software - JobOps – and is one of only 8 Certified Consultants for MAS90/200.

TAC has also been certified to provide training in MAS90/200 by Sage Software. In addition, TAC is also on the Sage Manufacturing Advisory Council which reviews and develops application feature enhancements for new software versions.

Prior to her work in consulting, Deb worked for various manufacturing and distribution companies which include a semi-conductor capital equipment manufacturer where she was the responsible manager for all operations projects; and, a Fortune 500 privately held computer peripheral distributor where she was the Director of Materials and Distribution and responsible for 11 regional warehouses and over 100 people.

She has also taught classes in manufacturing/process control, inventory management, and materials management at Portland Community College and Portland State University for the local APICS organization. She is certified in Production and Inventory Management and Integrative Resource management by the APICS. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Marylhurst University.
